With the remote data management system Maxwell can deliver the complete data management solution hardware, software and workflows, to a remote site. The client provides the personnel and we will manage all the IT infrastructure and software to get the job done. 

With this scenario we can use an existing satellite link or Maxwell can provide one. This link will provide on demand support.

Review

dataFIRST
Maxwell carries out a comprehensive review of the client's requirements, called dataFIRST. The process is structured and designed to establish a hosted solution that supports the business strategy, workflow and budget.

Design

Maxwell Data Schema
The Maxwell Data Schema (MDS) is the foundation of our data management systems. It has been built from years of mining and exploration experience and is optimised for various commodities. Because every data management system is different, the MDS can be customised to suit all requirements. We recommend that clients initially use the standard MDS with minimal customisation and configuration. Once the business process is finalised and the data management system finessed, The Maxwell data model is fully transparent and auditable.

Standard Exploration Workflow
Maxwell uses inbuilt workflows to allow for rapid deployment of the data management system. If a client has unique requirements then our workflows can be customised to accommodate these.

Imports Layouts
Maxwell can setup import layouts for laboratory and field files.

Exports Layouts and/or Replication
Clients may elect to have their data sent to them on an as required basis, or have their database replicated. Data can be exported in a number of formats suitable for third party software.

Database and Software Installation
Once the data management system is configured and tested, it is implemented onto our servers and DataShed and QAQCR are linked to the data schema.

IT infrastructure
The MDS is hosted on a Microsoft SQL Server environment. Services are provided and maintained by Microsoft certified specialists. Full verified backup tapes are created daily, weekly, monthly, and stored off site in a secured climate controlled environment. Access to this facility is 24/7.

Annual Database Status Report
Client will receive an annual report on the status of their database.

On Demand Reporting

With a hosted database management system, Maxwell can provide an on demand reporting services. This suite of customisable reports allows for the monitoring and management of exploration activities including:

  • Sample dispatch and tracking
  • Sample reconciliation
  • Laboratory instructions
  • Drill rig performance
  • Significant intercepts
  • QAQC reports
  • Drill activity
  • Drilling invoice reconciliation

Data Capture

For clients hosting their database at Maxwell, we can provide seamless data capture solutions using our data capture applications (LogChief and Nomad) that will synchronise with the master database. This workflow will improve data quality and integrity. Disciplined data capture processes need to be driven as far upstream as is practically possible so there is quality data delivered to the master. Flexibility of data capture systems is also important as each organisation has different business work flows.

LogChief

LogChief is a data capture application designed to run on a laptop or tablet. The application is designed to simplify the collection and management of data associated with surface sampling and drilling activities. It ensures that by using defaults and company libraries, the data integrity and validation is enforced at the point of entry. The application gives users the flexibility to customise the application for their specific needs. LogChief can be used offline, or synchronised with the master database. Nomad

Nomad provides resources companies with easy, accurate and speedy data capture at the point of entry. Validation rules improve the quality of data collected. Nomad can be used offline and then later automatically synchronised to your desktop or master database to upload the data. Nomad users can use the pre-installed data capture templates or customise their own. These templates are rapidly deployable in an integrated data management system. More information.

Ruggedized Field Hardware
